Turok dinosaur hunter is based on a comic book hero that first came out in 1954 and was brought back again in 1994. The original Turok video game was first released on the Nintendo platform in 1997 as a first person 3D simulation game. The game is a shooter game that the story plot is that Toruk is a Native American time traveling warrior. There is a Turok hunter every generation that is passed down to the eldest male to the next Turok.
The Turok’s charge is to protect the border area between Earth and a place called the lost land. An area that is inhabited by dinosaurs, aliens, and an evil overlord called the “Campaigner”. The Campaigner is looking for a secret ancient weapon called the chronoscepter. The chronoscepter was broken into eight pieces and scattered. The Turok also seeks the pieces to keep them out of the Chronoceptor’s hands.
The game has Turok supplied with 13 weapons including a bow and a knife. Different game portals can be opened by keys found throughout the game. Ammunition has to be picked up from fallen enemies for re-supply. There are 7 levels of play that keeps this game fresh and interesting.
