Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis came out in 2001 as a tactical shooter game set in 1985. The Soviets invade an island and develop it into a fortress and that is where the game is set. This game can be played as both a first or third person and your challenge is to navigate the conflict between the Soviets, the Resistance, and the U.S.
Operation Flash Point: Dragon Rising was released in 2009 as a sequel tactical shooter game but this time the issue on the table is a contested Island of Skira. Both China and Russia lay claim to the island that has been found to have rich oil deposits. Both Russia and China build up to follow a conflict when the U.S. gets involved. Boats, vehicles, and over 70 different weapons define the missions in this game.
Operation Flashpoint: Red River came out into the gaming world in 2011. This game again is a tactical shooter game set in Afghanistan where a terrorist insurgent group launches attacks on a US forward operating base. The mission of Outlaw Company is to take out the insurgent terrorist threat and capturing villages, an airbase, and defusing IED’s in the process. Lots of weapons and follow up missions to boot.
